I think we need you and Mike Buland to do a podcast which is just a fake NPR program. Maybe one of you is the host and the other is an auteur being interviewed, except that your documentary or memoir or whatever is actually in the world of a video game.

All the talk about the library world reminds me of watching 'Tomes and Talismans' on PBS as a kid.

Jerry and Eric, what are your thoughts on having/not having a map of a town or dungeon for your players to look at? I like the idea of not having a map, because a physical map is never as fantastic as what the players can imagine. That said, the last time I DM'd my players told me after the game that they had difficulty acting strategically in battle - in terms of using trees for cover, etc. - because there was no map of the area to look at. I can certainly see their point. What do you think?

Jerry/Eric (Jerric?): I'm a first-time DM at the ripe old age of 37. One thing I'd like to do for my players is give them 'signature' weapons or items that their characters can continue using throughout the campaign. After all, Aragorn wouldn't just toss away Andúril because some rando orc dropped a +1 broadsword. However, I realize I may need to balance strong gear against making the players too overpowered too early, or making future items less interesting by comparison. What are your thoughts on introducing 'power items' like this? What was your process for creating Rosie's Staff of the Master?
