The sound should be improved on this one. Look forward to This Old Lair in a more timely fashion in the future!

Oh, and please ask new questions in the comments!

When I download these on my phone, the file name get bonked up. Is there any way to fix that, would make it easier to find back while in the throngs of the morning commute.

ClubPA

Unfortunately that’s a file name that Patreon is giving it when we upload, it’s not the name on our end.

Dear DM Dads, I’ve written myself into somewhat of a corner in my game. My players have (unknowingly) encountered an aspect of Hastur who has left them hints at incoming threats spread throughout the area and has been manipulating them into being involved. So far a kraken has emerged with deep ones and taken over the main port town in the area. (They abandoned the town after the citizens refused to supply the necessary funds and supplies to attempt to fight back) They have also heard of something causing havoc in the high mountains to the north and in the Underdark to the East but Im now drawing a blank as to what would be in the mountains/Underdark that is a similar threat/scope to a Kraken. Any suggestions? Hastur is causing trouble for multiple reasons but mainly setting in motion these large threats to slip into the region mostly unnoticed in comparison.

Dear Poet Laireates, is the software used for the Twitch stream an off the shelf model, a souped up off the shelf model or an artisanal creation?

Blessed DMs - In what other media/sources/people do you guys most look for inspiration, perhaps besides the "obvious" answer of books and movies? For example, I have modeled more than one enounter after scenarios in Betrayal at House on the Hill to the delight of my players.

Dear DM Daddies, I have wanted to run a family game over the holidays for a couple years now for my siblings and parents. They are all big nerds but don't have any experience with table top RPGs. What should I do to make the experience as easy and stream lined as possible for a full table of new people? Any ideas for fun 1-2 session adventures?

Here are a few Qs to choose from: Y'all got any tips/tricks for making NPCs that the PCs care about? Where is the line for you between too much and too little prep when it comes to NPC creation? How do you stay consistent with your RP of NPCs when there are so many floating around your head? Also, as a suggestion, maybe you could put together an index somewhere of the questions that are answered in each episode to prevent duplicate questions.

ClubPA

The best person to ask about that would be Josh himself, directly on the stream!

(SPOILERS) Jerry, recently Omin has damned a Jim Darkmagic to Hell, while reacting to the death of Binwin with a noncommittal grunt. What happened buddy? I feel like it's time for a reflective montage as Omin sits in his office belting out the Johnny Cash version of Hurt. Care to comment on this (not imagined) dark character progression?

Gracious, fronds. First, thank you for addressing my last question. My next question has to deal with death in campaigns. Adventurers can often start to feel a bit too badass for their own good. How do you best instill danger and death into your encounters without just straight up murdering your party? Also keep up the great work. This has quickly become my favorite podcast!

David Pearson

my apologies if this has been asked and answered, but i'm new here. Is there a way to make this show up in my podcast app on the phone? The C team and table talk goes there just fine. Thanks! Keep up the good work! i look forward to filling my earholes with more D&D goodness.

Hi David, these should go there automatically when we upload them through Patreon.
