I always look forward to your guys' SHINee reactions. Also the festival was not their first time singing Hard live. What they were saying was, it was the first time they were preforming Hard together as 4 members because previously Jinki had been on about a year long health hiatus.

Ofra Cohen

This wasn't the first time they performed HARD live, it's the first time they performed it with all 4 members. Onew had to go on a health hiatus for almost a year midway through filming the MV for HARD for almost a YEAR, so the memmembers promoted it as 3 and performed it live on various stages as 3.

Ofra Cohen

When this was broadcasted, the SHINee section was the most watched thing in Korea, half the country tuned in to watch them...

Ofra Cohen

They didn't perform it at the fan meet before he left for hiatus, they performed The feeling.

There's a ton of European and generally Western producers working with Kpop labels, I think there's particularly many from Sweden (notably Andreas Oberg has worked on many SHINee/SM songs, or the brother duo by the name of 'Moonshine' responsible for countless hits), and after a quick research it seems that the Eriksen guy is Norwegian while Troelsen is indeed Danish :D. I believe reacttothek channel has done a few interviews with someone that worked at SM's A&R team and they said that SHINee's repertoire is leaning more towards European music style and influences, whereas EXO's is generally more American or something along those lines, and as someone also coming from Europe I indeed find SHINee's music sounding somewhat nostalgic or reminiscinant of the old Europop I grew up listening to, fascinating stuff. Sherlock is comprised of mostly Clue's verses, Note's choruses, intro and outro, while the bridge is a mix of both. But then, for instance, SHINee World IV performance is yet again structured differently from the CD version. They like playing with it. Sherlock basically started the hybrid song surge in Kpop as it was the first one, and it's still only one of the few that ever released the mixed songs separately. Shawols are actually known to have some of the most organized and loudest fanchants! I guess the reason you haven't heard them as much is because you had mostly reacted to their concert performances from DVD's and often times they're edited out in post production to remove or reduce background noise. LMAO Ring Ding Dong is an acquired taste fr :D it's definitely not the best introduction song, like I legitimately would be pretty embarassed to show that to someone who's not a Kpop fan already. I genuinely love seeing your reactions to SHINee get progressively more passionate, with every single one of them you keep falling into the depths of the SHINee World!

Lawol

Ah yeah my bad, somehow I imagined that they did lol. But even so, they already performed it at the SHINee World VI SHiNee's Back this year with him. Not sure when was this festival filmed, maybe it was prior to the concert? In that case it would actually be first then, but I understood it as just the first one that was broadcasted on a TV show. EDIT: Ok I looked it up and this seems to have happened in June and SHiNee's back was in May so it makes this the 2nd time they performed it as four overall...

Lawol

Yeah like I can't imagine anyone leaving or turning it off when it's SHINee's turn. And if someone did, I feel genuinely sorry for them.

Ofra Cohen

Yep! It was the other way around, MORE people started watching when it was SHINee's time, and them being the most senior artists there, everyone knew they'll be last, so it was easier to time...

Ofra Cohen

I think this was filmed a short time before the concert, so it really was the first time.

Lawol

Not sure tbh, Wikipedia has it as late June (possibly it was released/aired on TV then) and many Youtube fancam uploads from people that actually attended it has it titled as 2024 06 13 (June 13th) so I assume it happened on that day which would make it after the concert. EItherway, they were close.

Lawol

Guys, you added this video to the 'TXT collection', I guess a little mistake there.

ValenandTheo

Ups so sorry, haha. I think it's because I (Theo) was writing the description for a TXT video on YouTube at the same time, so my brain got confused...

Lawol

Oh so you're not posting it up on patreon first? Not that I'm complaining, rather the opposite since we're gonna get it faster and another reaction on patreon so cool :D

I know other's have already said it, but SHINee really do have some amazing fanchants! One of the best is for 'Everybody' (which I don't think you've recated to yet? But, I'm sure someone - probably Ofra - will reccomend the iconic Tokyo Dome performance at some point). There are videos from outside of the stadiums, where you can hear the crowd doing it SO LOUD, and SO CLEAR. There's a great one from 2010 of a crowd full of multiple fandoms all coming together for the Ring Ding Dong fanchant too. Amazing!

It was just a really small outdoor venue (I think max capacity of 2000?) - no one had left by the time SHINee performed. The whole festival was free and because of that ticketing was apparently an absolute bloodbath.
