B-Side: Cali Logan (Patreon)

Hi friends! 

I wanted to give a quick rundown about why I decided to make this a b-side (as opposed to releasing it on its own or not releasing it at all). 

Originally, Cali and I were going to do our best to work on shooting two videos at about medium length (probably somewhere around 7-10 mins). However, upon shooting the first video, we realized it was actually quite a long video, requiring lots of different shots and adjustments. While finishing up the first video, I realized we were virtually out of time for the allotted shoot. However, Cali being kind, offered to shoot an abbreviated version of the original scenario we had planned. Thus, we did our best to work quickly and we amended the original scenario in order to save time. 

Upon importing the footage and doing a rough edit, I realized that something was "off." The shots I had taken were relatively static and uninteresting (some even out of focus or with consistency issues), and there was no sense of drama nor purpose, just some people without establishing shots and zero stakes. After watching it a few times, I realized I didn't want to charge people money for something that I wasn't particularly proud of. After all, I am a consumer of macrophilia content myself, and while I love supporting models/creators, it doesn't feel great to spend money on something that you don't enjoy (or worse, something that feels thrown together without any effort whatsoever). While I would like to make the money back from this shoot, it just didn't feel right to "trick" people into buying something (thankfully, this Patreon has allowed me to feel like all hope is not lost when I get pirated). However, at the same time, I also realized that there were some cool looking shots that I wanted to share with everyone, and it felt cheap to just export the footage RAW (or worse, keep them to myself). And so, I did my best to piece together the footage I shot into something at least halfway decent, albeit with its own issues.
