Sound Whip

Weapon (Whip), Rare (requires attunement)

Crafted by a legendary storm sorceress who channeled some of her overflowing magic into arcane relics, this whip harbors the shattering power of thunder.

When inactive, this item appears to be a whip handle. While holding it, you can use a bonus action to cause a whip of pure sound to spring into existence, or make the whip disappear. Made from thunderous sonic waves, the Sound Whip is indestructible and has the light property.

When you attack with this weapon, a loud crack of thunder, audible from as far away as 1200 feet, emanates from it.

Sonic Lash. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, which deals thunder damage instead of slashing damage. When you hit a creature made of inorganic material such as stone, crystal, or metal with it, as well as a nonmagical object that isn’t being worn or carried, that target takes an extra 2d8 thunder damage.

Deafening Strike. When you hit a creature with an attack with this whip, that creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be deafened until the start of your next turn. Creatures made of inorganic material such as stone, crystal, or metal have disadvantage on this saving throw.
