A scholar who was cursed by ancient powers I sketched on commission recently!

Character: Vis Desideros, Cursed Medusa Wizard

Vis adventures in a world where titans and gods are much more physically present in the world. He hails from Mytros, his family a line of wizards and scholars who have supported the academies for generations both through monetary means and in research.

Vis grew up a student and a scholar of the arcane. When discovery of titans petrified and sealed away made its way to Mytros, he found himself leading an expedition to uncover what could have such power to seal away titans, as well as the identity of the three who have been petrified.

The expedition started off well and initial findings identified one of the titans as a being of prophecy, but learning this information is where things took a turn for the worse. Upon learning the titan’s name, Vis and his family were cursed. The family was petrified, and he was cursed to be a medusa for his meddling in the affairs of those more powerful.

Since then, Vis has spent the last few years exhausting his family’s wealth and pulling on every social favor to find some way to free his family and break this curse. His latest lead has taken him to the prophet Versi, who claims to have seen the answers he seeks…
