Dillinger, Human Cowboy Monk, Monster Wrangler, and Rodeo Veteran - Sketch (Patreon)

Dillinger is one of four party members I was commissioned to draw recently! You already saw Brimble, the female dwarf rogue (and vampire). So here is: Dillinger’s Ride
Character Name: Dillinger, Human Cowboy Monk, Monster Wrangler, and Rodeo Veteran
Dillinger was a monster wrangler and the "guy on the ground" in a troupe of musicians, performers, actors, and acrobats called the Edema Ruh. He traveled with them since his early twenties. He doesn't have much blood family, he never knew his mom, and his dad raised him up in a small town but was mostly absent, and they were never close. Dillinger joined up with the troupe when it swung through his town one summer because he was bored to death and didn't want to die in the same town he was born in like his dad is on track to do. He's about thirdy years old now.
Dillinger thought he was happy in the rodeo. He was dating one of the bull and monster riders, a half orc woman named Lawson, on and off for years. They had a turbulent relationship, both emotional and quick-tempered enough that they clashed a lot, broke up, and got back together, but Dillinger was head over heels for her the entire time. She kept her cards close to her chest.
One morning they went to pack up the rodeo and move out of the town they were in and Lawson was just... gone. Her pack and things were all gone, no signs of a struggle. Dillinger was pretty busted up over it. He started getting more and more reckless (a trait he already tended towards). After drinking a lot, he thought it'd be funny to release the rodeo's creatures and do an impromptu running of the bulls through the streets of the town. It caused a LOT of property damage, and Dillinger had to stay behind to atone for his misdeeds as the troupe moved on to the next town.
Dillinger was content. He felt like he had it all and he was going to propose. He was comfortable. Then she just disappeared, and left him? Everything he thought was safe and stable just... wasn't. What he thought was a solid home suddenly wasn’t, and it was all tenuous to begin with anyway. Dillinger feels duped and unmoored, and right now he in the middle of an existential crisis. What is home anymore? He is soul searching.
What do you think? :)
I’ll upload the full illustration of Dillinger’s Ride, and sketches and illustrations of the remaining 2 party members in the coming days!
