Acturus Cres is the oldest son of Lord Vaelar Cres of House Cres that traces their history all the way back to before the Doom of Valyria and the loss of their house's dragons. One of the few houses of Westeros that maintains generational vows of loyalty to the throne. Arcturus Cres became the acting head of the House at the age of sixteen due to his father being King Robert Baratheon's "guest" after the end of Robert's Rebellion. Arcturus is a man of honor like his father and King Robert betrayed Arcturus' oath of loyalty moments after he swore his oath to him by demanding he slay Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen in order to allow his loyal servant, Lord Vaelar Cres, to return home, but if they failed the Cres would lose their lands and titles, but an oath is an oath until death. Arcturus is a student of the sword, winning the Grand Melee at the Tourney of the Hand for Lord Eddard Stark. Few can match his skill with a sword. Arcturus is also a student of war as the leader of his house he will be expected to lead his men into battle if not now at some time in his life. Arcturus loves his country, but his country does not love him or the other Valyrians of this world, so it is his dream to found a home for his people, time to reclaim Old Valyria and make it home again.
