Characters: Loreena, Dragonborn Ranger; and Banisher, Sentient Oath Blade

Elegant and intimidating, Loreena is a bronze dragonborn and peerless ranger from the deep forests of Rezzel. Her clan was nearly extinguished by a horrible monstrosity, leaving her and only a few others left. From that day, she swore to protect those who could not protect themselves, especially from the repulsive grasp of any monstrosity that dares touch those she most cares about. With the help of her trusty blades, she’s seeks to revenge those she could not protect and bring peace to the world and herself.

Loreena’s Oath Blade, Banisher, was once wielded by the god Valor. Back in ancient times, when gods roamed the earth. The great and mighty lawful god Valor struck down all evil with his trusty Oath Blade. The blade shared his passion to destroy all evil in the world and protect those who cannot protect themselves. A noble Paladin came forth gained Valor’s favor and eventually his blade. Unlike Valor, the Paladin was a mere mortal. He fought and fell with Valor’s name on his lips. In honor of his life, his crypt walls were decorated with scripts of Valor and his most valiant war stories. The most grand of them held the fallen Paladin’s blade. However, engraved around Banisher was an unspoken warning: “If this blade is ever to be found and brought back to the surface, beware: true evil is set to come forth.” So, there the blade lay in wait for its next master.

“Welcome.” A low voice boomed in her mind. “Shall we destroy some evil today?” 

Here, Loreena and Banisher are seeking ancient lore about the blade’s history. Most of the time, since the blade is so ancient, she ends up finding children’s books about destroying evil that both she and Banisher find quite enjoyable.
