I did a vote on twitter and apparently people want to see this interactive stuff again. Stuff like dynamic gut bulges can be an issue, though. Luckily, I was able to figure it out after a whole lot of messing around. It's a really hacky solution involving a script custom transparent shader for the prey that becomes brighter and grows the prey as it moves away from the central point to compensate for perspective, a script to create a cubemap from the center of the prey, and a shaders to blur the final cubemap to be used as a height map for the gut. The result is, uhh, good enough for now! It allows me to animate squirming prey and display the result on the predator's gut. I don't think I'm done yet, however. It would be ideal if I could also squish the gut from the outside. Otherwise, the prey bulges would likely clip through the predator's hands if there is any gut rubbing involved. If I get that system working well enough, I could maybe also do a VR mode where you can squish the gut. For now, enjoy this test video!
