What are your thoughts on flashback systems (like in blades in the dark), and would you be interested in having such a thing for a heist in 5E? If so, what kind of mechanics would you use to limit how often they can be used?

my first real campaign was ended when the party got trapped in the bottom of a well with the bbeg, mage cast fire ball, and the ladder that was never described as wood until now was burnt, for the next 6 real life hours we tried and failed to escape the well until finally a grappling hook landed, never make a cut scene a horrible battle

Speaking of Emily’s dice witchcraft, I’ve wondered if you roll so poorly bc she does more moon-marinating with her dice than yours (I assume? She’s mentioned doing it more than once on shows in the past) and maybe her dice just suck up all the good rolls in the vicinity leaving yours depleted of high-rolling dice nutrients. 🤷🏻
