New here? Wondering where to start? Click here

Hi Everyone,

In this lesson, I'm analyzing the bridge, middle part, or B part (whatever you'd like to call it is acceptable) of the Beatles' "Yesterday."

We did most of the groundwork in the first lesson and since the bridge shares a lot of the same chords as the verse, I brush over those shared parts a little quicker in this lesson to focus on the parts that are unique to the bridge.

Share your questions, homework, etc on the community forum post.

These two lessons are probably the heaviest theory lessons on my Patreon at the moment, so if it feels a little dense, it's because it IS. Take your time working through these two lessons and let's have a discussion about it. This would be a good time to make sure you understand chords in a key, melodic minor, melody making, and 7th chords - all stuff we've covered with MTM lessons.

Check out the Lesson Archive for more Songwriting lessons.

This lesson is part of my Song Analysis series.
