Hi! Times are tough in the U.S. right now. There have been peaceful Black Lives Matter protests every night for the past week or two and I've been scrambling to figure out how I can participate. I have friends down there getting tear gasses and beaten by police. This is an important movement for the U.S. and I want to be part of it.

My Patreon is a place to learn guitar and music theory, but a big part of music is music history, and a huge part of music history in the U.S. is black history. I'm putting some history lessons together about music in the U.S. and I also want to lift up some black artists that have had a huge impact on the way I listen to, play, and understand music. So expect some lessons on that in the future.

That said, I'm still working on regular programming - more of my formal music theory course, more little side lessons, and livestreaming. The private forum for this patreon is nearly ready and the patreon dashboard on my website is going to have a search function soon. Its all coming! I'm also working on some cool secret projects I'll hopefully be able to reveal in a matter of months.

-------------OK NOW ABOUT THIS ACTUAL LESSON-------------

In this lesson, I'm breaking down the chord progression of this song into their appropriate roman numerals - talking about what key(s) the song is in and how everything is organized. If you've watched all of the Music Theory Monday series, you should understand whats going on. If not, I'll have livestreams to help clarify your questions and my formal music theory course will make a lot more sense of it.

Thank you for the lesson. Now I had a better understanding of how to use secondary dominant. I made some screen shots of your notes. Next time, it will be very helpful if you can share some of your iPad notes. 😜

That simple key-finding method is awesome! Hugely useful!
