Hi Everyone,

This live lesson was about how to loosen up the rigid measure line chord switches we all gravitate toward by using push beats and varying when you change chords. We also talked about how you don't need to play JUST one chord even if everyone else is!

Join me for a live lesson every Tuesday at 4PM! If you can’t make it, that’s ok! You can always watch later. If you click the “YouTube” logo on the video, you’ll be able to watch the livestream on YouTube and that’s where you’ll have access to the live chat. Feel free to ask questions in the comments below or in the live chat, but keep in mind I’ll typically save all the questions for the end of the lesson.

If you’re watching later and you still have questions, feel free to comment below or ask on the next Office Hours, every Thursday at 10am Pacific.

*Please note: you may need a youtube/gmail account to ask questions in the live stream, but you can watch without one.

What a very exciting lesson! I was very interested about the use of the chord tones of the bassline to enrich the chord progression. Also you answered the question I was making to myself ‘why is he only playing chords with upper strings?’. (About these chords it seems that you make some embellishments is there a lesson on the site where you talk about this topic ?) Just another thing I live overseas (France) and I receive the notification by email about live lesson and Office hour only when it’s available, is there a mean to be inform in advance?) Anyway, you’re a fantastic teacher, it’s a bliss to be on your patron. Thank you!

There's some concepts in this lesson that could be turned into a Community Challenge.
