!!! I HOPE THIS FINDS YOU AND HELP YOU GUYS !!!! Since you seem quite confused or lost about what some words might mean: Sensei simply means teacher in japanese Senpai have various meanings but in this context it means an upperclassman. It can be your senior in school or in work. Basically someone who has a higher experience or someone older than you in a hierarchy. You will also see the suffix "san", "chan" or "kun" frequently connected with the characters names. The suffix "san" usually is used as a polite speech to show respect. So when you see them saying "Tanaka-san", "Daichi-san".. they usually say this towards their senpais, the ones older than them or even to the teachers and coaches. The suffix "chan" is like an endearment, usually used as a cute way to call the person. This mostly are used for girls or children or people that are really close to you. So when Hinata's friend called him Sho-chan for example, the "sho" is from his name "Shoyo" and then added the "chan" suffix for endearment because he is a close friend. But I think it would be easier for you to just call him Hinata. ☺️ The suffix "kun" is a semi-formal title. Not as formal and polite as "san" and are usually used for younger men or people of the same age. You'll see Hinata usually call Kageyama "Kageyama-kun" throughout the show. Like Koreans, Japanese also have a very polite culture and language so the hierarchy and age plays a lot of role into their interactions. Like how you say Kageyama seems to listen to Daichi (the captain) even though Kageyama seems to be a more skillful player.. it's because well aside from he is the captain, he is also his senpai because he's a third year. You'll see a lot of scenes with this name suffix throughout the show and how they address their senpais even for the other teams so I figured you should know atleast these facts so you can understand it better. ☺️ If anyone wants to add something or correct me in any info that might be wrong, please feel free to comment so Jared and Jordan will hopefully read it and will be aware as well. 🤘 Love you guys!!! I'm buckled up deep for this Haikyuu journey with you!!!! So damn excited!!!!! 🔥

Daichi is such a great captain! He cares about taking the team far but also cares for the individual team members and working together to achieve their dreams. I personally love Kageyama. He is self-centered but keep in mind that you still have plenty of episodes ahead with so much content. Also, anime tends to use a lot of “fan service” which tends to be very sexual in nature. Can be considered one of the downsides.

Tanaka knew Shojo and Kageyama are still out there so he gave them the hint that normal training starts at 7 so they could get there before the official training starts.
