This OVA was much DARKER and more TWISTED than we expected. We're hoping that some of the things mentioned in this OVA are not a foreshadowing of things to come 😦

I have watched the whole series but this is my first time watching this OVA. All I can say is that this episode was beautiful and there are many significant concepts and moments that carry on with the show. I also saw someone mentioning that the butterfly shown in this episode represents the butterfly effect, which is totally spot on. Good luck on the second half of the show.

I find it so interesting how it starts out with what seems to be an idealized version of Mikasa's world. Her parents don't die, the man she had to kill was attacked by wolves, and she had some cute moments with Eren. But, as it goes on, things start to get less happy, then darker. It does show her love for Eren, regardless of the circumstances. But, also, having those bad moments in life change to something better, doesn't always mean better outcomes in the long run. Eren dies as a kid, he wouldn't have been there later to help. But the tradeoff.. her parents.
