thanks for the reaction! I always anticipate mondays now bc of these reactions:) now, for a bit of a moral quandary. As you've mentioned, we now have 3 Kira's — Light, Misa, and Higuchi. Do y'all believe that each of them would be considered as equally 'evil' to each other, due to them all using the death note to kill people? Or do you feel that on the 'spectrum' or morality, any of them are more 'just' or 'unjust' than the others? Would you consider the number of people killed to be representative of where they fall on the morality scale, or the intention behind it? For example, Light has objectively killed the most people, but he has a 'moral code' he usually abides by, whereas at this point Higuchi has potentially killed the least (who knows how many Misa has killed - but hers are focused around obsession to her 'saviour'), but he killed mainly for his own financial gain, and only kills 'criminals' bc Rem is making him. Interested in your thoughts!

15 Episodes remain. If Higuchi were to be killed, where do you think the show will go from there? Also, when Rem reveals herself to Misa again, she tells Misa that Light has a plan. Any ideas on what that plan actually is?

I feel like if most people imagine themselves getting the power of the death note, regardless of the morality of how they’d use it, most people imagine themselves to be calculating, careful, and smooth like Light. In reality, 99.99% of us would be a Higuchi. Trying to be smart about it, but when the walls close in completely panicking and making hasty/non-ideal decisions.

Hello! I have finally joined in after being a long-time BTS subscriber ! I joined to rewatch haikyu, one of my all-time faves but this is my first time watching death note and it’s been so fun ! My question is (since I have no idea either) is what do you think Ryuk is getting up to right now? Rem was obviously super committed to misa from the beginning but ryuk’s alliance with Light seemed much more tenuous so I am curious what he’s been doing in his “off time”

In regards to Misa touching the scrap of death note, that did not give her ownership of the notebook nor her shinigami eyes. The only thing that Misa got out of touching the death note scrap was the ability to see and talk to Rem. She still doesn't have her memories either until she touches her old death note again, so she's effectively still just a normal girl with the ability to see and talk to Rem. A Death Note can only have one owner at a time, and the only ways that someone else can become an owner are if they forfeit ownership, die, or if the Death Note becomes lost/stolen and they fail to retrieve it in 490 days. In cases where the previous owner of the notebook dies, then ownership transfers to the next human or shinigami to touch it. Owners are able to lend the death note to other people while maintaining ownership, which is what Misa did for Light early on in the series. After she forfeited ownership of her Death Note, Light became the owner of two death notes, one of which he sent with Rem to go give to Higuchi, and the other he buried in the ground in an undisclosed location as seen in episode 16. Understanding the ins and outs of how ownership works is rather important for understanding some of the plot points in this series, and can be hard for first time watchers. I don't think I fully grasped some major plot beats until my second rewatch.

2024-04-11 22:12:56 Light, usually very clever, falls for a simple trick. When Light, pretending to be L, says to Namikawa they'll catch Kira that night, Namikawa replied, "This is the end for Higuchi," to which Light mistakenly responds, "So you know it's him?" L then quickly points out Light's oopsie. Well this is "Innocent" Light.., I imagined "Kira" Light wont make this oopsie. Anyways, episode 23 and 24 is my favourite episodes in this yotsuba arc.

Also love L's plan making Higuchi panic/desperate and made him no choice but to kill Matsuda, as his main goal is to see and observe Higuchi's/Kira's killing method and gather solid evidence. (though in this case its supernatural, similar to black magic like voodoo doll etc. but with alot of rules) Episode 23 and 24 is my favourite episodes in this yotsuba arc.
