haha, that episode has always been the most painful for me to watch - the second-hand embarrassment for Matsuda is killer 😂

I always feel a little bad for Matsuda. I think that if they gave him a more serious task, even something simple, he would be proud and he wouldn't do anything reckless. Instead everyone calls him an idiot. But he isn't an idiot. He's just enthusiastic and inexperienced. And he happens to be in a team with crazy geniuses. About Matsuda suddenly becoming yellow: I'm not sure, but the way I personally always interpreted it is that Matsuda became "a player" in the game. The game was Light vs L (red vs blue), but now Matsuda entered as the yellow player. And he shook things up in this episode by making a move by himself. But that's how I interpreted it. Someone mentioned before that the colors of the characters have meanings behind them. For Matsuda, the yellow means hope and curiosity.

To answer Jared's question about REM: No, Light does not remember REM, He does not remember ANYTHING about the Shinigamis nor the notebook at all. His memories have been totally wiped out when he said, "get rid of it" initiating his instruction to Ryuk. When Light was giving Misa's Notebook back to REM, he was relinquishing ownership of THAT Notebook. What he said during that scene was along the lines of "so I still have the memories of REM after all, even though I already relinquished Misa's notebook", he realized that as long as he still owns at least one Deathnote (Ryuk's one) then he would still have his full memory of everything intact, including the existence of another Shinigami. Now that he doesn't have ANY Deathnote, he is just a normal intelligent human without even a hint of memory about being Kira. REM on the other hand have given the Deathnote to someone else who would be ruthless enough to kill people for their own selfish reasons so that the killings will start again even when both Light and Misa were in custody (this is not a spoiler since REM already explained it in the previous episodes), Light was the one who told her about this saying that its the only way to save Misa, hence why REM did it even though he/she finds it disgusting. So, the Light that you see now is truly the most authentic untainted innocent version of him. Hope this clears up any confusion :)

Great reaction as always, J&J 💜🙏😄 The scenes of the men wearing slippers- Actually Misa mentioned she got the okay from her office to have a special reception since Yotsuba is 'a big catch'. So I believe the men were invited to go over to Misa's office/agency where they joined her and the other girls to be 'entertained' (and be under the surveillance of L and team). They were not in Yotsuba building. Also, its common practice not to wear their outside shoes in homes / another person's space, to keep the place clean. So they are offered these slippers instead which are only worn inside, and it also helps keep their feet warm from the cold floors. I can only assume those pink slippers be taken as the men entering a "girls-only" territory as part of the special treatment / reception 😂
