the similarities and contradictions between L and Light are probably my favorite thing about the show. their dynamic is so fun to watch. they're both constantly trying to one up each other, but also work really well together despite differences. dare i say they're two sides of the same coin? Light has many different relationships in this show, with his family, with Misa, with the other task force members, his university peers, but his relationship with L is the one that seems where he's just as mutually interested as the other person. Most people in Light's life are just props to him and while L could be seen as simply Light's biggest obstacle, it'll become clear L is the only person Light actually respects.

That last scene with Aizawa seeing his wife and daughter again always tears at the heartstrings no matter how many times I see it. Hmm... Not long now until everything goes to shit XD
