— Piccolo —

He flew through the sky going at speeds normal martial artists couldn’t dream of following.

His mind was filled with Vegeta's warning of a tyrant whose power utterly eclipsed all of theirs. A scowl tugged at Piccolo’s green face. The newcomers' power levels were nowhere near what Vegeta had warned them of, but he did tell them that the Galactic Tyrant, Freeza, wouldn’t come on his own, at least not until that monster deemed it necessary.

“What do you think, Mr. Piccolo?” Gohan asked as he flew beside him. The runt may have been small, but he was strong. His ability to keep up with their current pace at his young age spoke wonders of his potential.

“Tch,” Piccolo grunted out as he narrowed his eyes and focused on the power levels. “Five of them, all easy to handle, but they could be hiding their power levels, so don’t get a big head.”

Gohan nodded, but it was clear he had something more to say.

“Speak runt,” Piccolo demanded, and Gohan let a nervous bead of sweat run down his forehead.

“Sorry, Mr. Piccolo, but didn’t Vegeta say that the Freeza Force can’t hide their power levels or sense ki?” Gohan questioned, and Piccolo grunted.

Yes, Vegeta had mentioned that in the past, but as a warrior, underestimating your opponents wasn’t something you did unless you planned on dying an early death.

“He did.” Piccolo nodded. “However you should treat them as if they’re as strong as you, if not stronger. Even if they have nothing to hide, never underestimate your opponent, and always put them down as soon as possible, got it, Gohan?”

Gohan’s eyes widened slightly, and Piccolo closed his eyes and cursed himself for addressing the runt by his name.

He needed to spend more time away…his heart was growing soft.

“Got it, Mr. Piccolo!” Gohan cheered, and the moment the runt expressed his understanding, Piccolo disregarded his existence and looked ahead to see Turles, Raditz, Nappa, and Goku flying just in front of him.

The Saiyan raised on Earth had not spoken a word, and he couldn't see his face from Piccolo’s place behind him.

During the time they spent training, all of the fighters had grown exceptionally, and the large gap between Goku, Vegeta, and everyone else remained strong. In fact, it only increased.

Goku and Vegeta were on another level, and Piccolo was almost certain Goku was stronger, thanks to his Kaioken technique, even though Vegeta seemed to be stronger in their base forms.

The two would be their main defense against Freeza, and as much as it pained Piccolo, he knew it would take a good amount of time before he reached their current level, and much more to actually surpass them.

It destroyed his pride to admit, but Saiyans were built different. A warrior race bred to fight and conquer indeed.

— Cui —

A grin tugged at his purple lips as he entered Earth’s stratosphere. Today was the day he did something he had wanted to do for years!

Today was the day Vegeta, the arrogant, annoying, asshole prince of the monkeys, died!

After Vegeta and his team of two monkeys had gone radio silent for a month, Freeza had wasted no time in calling for a search party to investigate Planet Earth.

Cui didn’t know why Freeza seemed fascinated by Vegeta's sudden absence. Had this situation happened to anyone else, Freeza wouldn’t have cared. But the fact of the matter is he did care, and he wanted someone to find Vegeta…or his body.

Cui shrugged within his space pod. It made no difference to him if Vegeta was Freeza’s pet. The simple truth of the matter was Vegeta had disappeared, and the tracker installed in Vegeta’s pod, along with the pods of his team, had lost signal on Earth.

What could have stopped that signal? Cui had a few ideas, but in truth, there were only two that mattered. Either Vegeta ran into trouble on Earth and is in trouble or dead, or Vegeta had gone rogue.

Cuit prayed it was the latter because either way, if Vegeta were alive, he wouldn’t be leaving this planet, at least not if Cui had something to say about it—and considering he was leading this search party, he definitely did

A mirthful chuckle escaped the purple alien at the thought of blasting a hole through Vegeta. Yes…that would make his day! Then when he brought Vegeta’s body back to Freeza, he’d be rewarded for his diligence and quick response!

“Ahahaha!” Cui laughed within the comfort of his space pod. He glanced through the red-tinted reinforced glass of his ship and down to the planet he would soon conquer in the name of Lord Freeza.

He was definitely getting employee of the month for this job!

As his space pod neared solid ground, he closed his eyes and basked in his future success.

…Then his eyes slowly opened when he realized his space pod had completely stopped in its descent.

Cui raised a brow and blinked as he looked outside the window to see that he had truly come to a stop.

Were this planet's clouds solid? Wait, that wouldn’t even make sense! He would have crashed if that were the case, instead he just came to a slow stop.

Cui growled as he opened the latch to his pod and floated out of it, ready to look at whatever had stopped his descent-

“It's been a long time, Cui.” The familiar voice of the Saiyan Prince hit Cui’s ears as he recoiled in shock. Vegeta, wearing the smirk Cui had become all too familiar with, held his space pod in one hand while pointing his palm at the purple alien with the other. “And seeing you after a long time still feels like it’s too soon.”

Before Cui could react, a yellow blast went through his abdomen, tearing a hole through his guts and out his back.

Cui looked down in shock, his hands touching the newly made hole as he spat out blood.

“Be a dear and keep Hell warm for Freeza,” Vegeta ordered before he launched another ki blast that was denser than the previous one.

Who knew taking a mere manhunt mission would end up with him taking his last breaths?

As the blast neared him, Cui cursed Vegeta’s name in every way he could before he closed his eyes and accepted his fate. He had his scouter on the whole time, he would be avenged by Lord Freeza himself! Suck on that, Vege-

BOOOOOOM

— Vegeta —

“Since taking this body as my own, I’ve never lost to you, Cui. So…why did you think now would be any different?” I asked the cloud of smoke and gore as it rained down on the Earth below. He was a fool, that much I already knew, but now, after his demise, I see just how fucking stupid he really was.

A shame that I couldn’t kill him twice.

Hmm, maybe if I can embarrass people like him before their deaths, it would count as a double kill? Both their body and their pride.

I could totally pull an Abridged Vegeta and get some doggy treats; I’m sure that’d thoroughly embarrass anyone, especially Freeza.

The Galactic Tyrant, the Most Powerful Being in the Cosmos, defeated and stoned to death with doggy treats.

Yes, I would make it a reality.

I looked down at the other four space pods nearing the Earth and held my hand out.

“Wrong planet, bitches.”

A yellow ki blast shot out of my hand and as it neared the space pods, it split into four separate streams of light that chased the pods.

BOOOOOOOM

Controlling ki was really useful, so I’m honestly glad we took that trip to Yardrat.

I stared at the four explosions with an emotionless expression before I descended downward with Cui’s space pod still in hand.

The closer I got to Earth, the more the reality of our current situation settled in.

Cui was just the first of many, and we still weren’t ready

The purple fuck was likely broadcasting sound through his scouter, not that I really care anyway. The fact that Cui found me on Earth means that they followed our trail or somehow managed to ping Turles’ ship.

It is what it is.

Worst-case scenario, Freeza comes next in person, but I highly doubt that would be the case. From what I know and from Vegeta’s memories, Freeza is too damn cocky to show his head for an insignificant monkey, but the fact that I dispatched Cui so quickly may be grounds for deeming me a higher-level threat.

Either he’s gonna send a lot of forces with a few dozen around Cui’s strength, or he’s gonna say fuck it and send the Ginyu Force.

I’d hope for the latter, but Freeza still does fear the Legendary Super Saiyan.

My money is on the Ginyu Force.

As I neared the Earth, I noticed that everyone had already gathered beneath me. The entirety of the Z-Fighters, Raditz, Nappa, Turles, and his squad were all there, though they all seemed to have relaxed already.

“You dealt with them all?” Tien asked with narrowed eyes and I nodded. “So they weren’t much.”

“Cui was never one for training.” I chuckled, and Raditz and Nappa paused before bursting out laughing.

“That was fucking Cui?!” Raditz cackled as if me offing him was the highlight of his day—which it definitely was.

“Vegeta!”

I let out a deep sigh. Sometimes I wished to take a space pod and go far, far away from Nappa.

Or just kill him.

“What, Nappa?”

“You jacked his pod, Vegeta.”

“That I did, Nappa.”

Dibs.”

“Eat your heart out.” I frowned and lobbed the ball over my shoulder like it was a basketball, and Nappa caught it with ease.

“...What are you even going to do with it, Nappa?” Raditz asked, and I facepalmed. Why invite him to talk more?!

“I’m glad you asked, Raditz!” Nappa grinned and pointed at himself. “I’m going to make a movie!”

“...”

“...”

Everyone went silent at his declaration.

“My modeling career is going well, Vegeta—” I wasn’t even the one talking to him! “And now I’m expanding my talents. You see that, Vegeta? I’m multilingual.”

“I don’t think that’s correct-” Gohan started before Piccolo held a hand in front of the smaller Saiyan.

“Banging your head against a brick wall,” Piccolo warned, and Gohan raised an eyebrow.

“What do you mean?”

“Banging your head against a brick wall would reap equal benefits to trying to explain any form of logic to him.”

“...I’ll take your word for it, Mr. Piccolo.”

“I’m gonna be on the big screen, Vegeta!” Nappa cheered as he held the space pod high above his head.

“Have fun, Nappa.”

I rubbed my temples before I leveled a serious expression at all of them.

“Now that we know what stupidity Nappa will be taking part in for the next month-”

“Ah, you got me, Vegeta!”

“-We need to address the elephant in the room.” I utterly disregarded Nappa’s interruption as Kakarot spoke up for the first time.

“You mean Freeza?”

“I do.” I nodded, and the entire group grew serious. “I doubt he’ll appear next, he’s a cocky bastard and one that rarely likes to get his hands dirty, unless he truly believes no one else can properly execute the job correctly.”

“Which means the Ginyu Force?” Raditz raised a thoughtful brow, and Turles along with his team widened their eyes at the mention of the strongest team in the cosmos.

I nodded at Raditz’s assumption.

“The Ginyu Force?” Krillin blinked in confusion.

“An elite group of five warriors, each of them are strong, so strong that challenging them was a pipe dream for us when we first landed on this planet.” I explained to the group which made them all frown. “That being said, at our current level, I honestly believe Kakarot and I alone would be capable of handling them, all of us would just be overkill.”

My words made them all visibly relax, and I was no exception, even though I still worried about the man in charge, Captain Ginyu.

His body changing ability would be nasty if he managed to get it off in time.

I didn’t want to risk it. The day the Ginyu Force showed up, he needed to die first

“But the Ginyu Force isn't the worst of it, are they?” Piccolo questioned with crossed arms and I shook my head.

“The moment the Ginyu Force is defeated, Freeza will rush toward this planet at full force, and I’m certain he’d skip the whole honorable fight and just blow all of us up and the planet along with us.”

The group were grave expressions at my declaration. The simple truth was, all of the Saiyans could spend the next three years training our asses off, and at this rate, we wouldn’t be able to beat Freeza.

“So, we keep training and try our best to overwhelm him before he can destroy the planet?” Turles questioned, and it was clear he didn’t quite believe we’d be capable of taking down Freeza.

The Gravity Chamber gave us progress, but it had a limit, and right now that limit was one hundred. Bulma would be increasing it in the future, but even five hundred times gravity wouldn’t mean much compared to Freeza’s might.

My power level is sitting just over 200k, and Freeza’s Final Form power level is easily 120 million.

We needed a power boost, one that would launch us to Freeza’s level, and with Cui’s defeat and utterly not noticeable appearances of spooky time keepers/breakers, it was clear this timeline was immune to any bullshit.

Which means that we could grow as strong as we wanted and as fast as we wanted

It was time to enter the realm of legends

As much as I tried to help it, a chuckle escaped me, earning confused looks from the group.

“Something funny?” Tien raised a brow.

“Yes, quite.” I grinned and clenched my fist before I looked at the assembled group. “Raditz, Nappa, Turles.” I called and then my eyes trailed over to the Z-Fighters. “Kakarot, Gohan.”

“Yes, Prince Vegeta?” Raditz scratched the back of his head in confusion and my grin grew to shit-eating proportions.

“There is something Freeza fears, above all else. In fact, it is the very reason he destroyed our planet, my Kingdom, out of fear that it may one day rise up and challenge his rule.

The group surrounding me widened their eyes as they clung on every word, a chance to defeat Freeza, a chance to save trillions of lives and end the Universe’s oppression.

And I had the answer.

“The Saiyan of Legend.” Turles breathed out, and I turned to him and nodded, looking all too smug.

“Freeza fears the might of the Saiyan Legend, so my Saiyans gathered here today. Let me show you the path to ultimate power, to becoming a Super Saiyan.
