Hi All,

José I think you will like this one. Thanks for the suggestion.

In this tutorial I demonstrate how to simulate the base FLIP simulation for the beer liquid using and initially filled bottle to pour the liquid.

Its a very naturalistic approach and can easily be swapped out for an emitter to pour the beer, which would sim a bit faster.

The beer foam part of the tutorial will only be covered in part 2 of the tutorial.

Enjoy!

Hi Billy, you are right Side Effect changed some of the internal working of surface tension in the new versions of Houdini. So I will have to make a new video about surface tension.

Hi there . i'm struggle a bit with the final state of the simulation , i lost 2/3 of my points with a small separation and 5/5 substeps :( . i'll try to do more test but its strange

Hi Michael! Does the problem go away at lower resolution? The higher the resolution the more flip struggles to maintain the correct fluid volume when you liquid has strong forces or stacks up high like in a glass like that. There are a couple of things you could try. First one is to slow everything down a bit, reduce gravity a little and reduce your surface tension for. If you have the disc space you could also simulate more frames at a lower timescale and retime back to the speed you want afterwards ( you would need to slow down your anim as well to match). You could also try turning on narrowband so that the inner volume has no particle all tough it doesn't always work well with surface tension. Turning on particle separation in the particle tab can help maintain volume as well but it will also effect the look of your sim. If non of that works keep increasing the substep until you get it resolving or run out of ram and time :) . I hope that helps!
