Defending Lydia Collier is the story of Mr Oakwood, head of his own small law firm in London, England, who becomes entangled in a mysterious web of corruption and lies following the disappearance of billionaire Charles Collier and the subsequent murder investigation focusing on his wife, Lydia Collier. 

A case without a body, and without a clear motive, quickly reveals there are other parties involved and not everything is as it seems. Mr Oakwood will be tasked with doing his utmost to keep Lydia from being imprisoned for a crime that she may have not committed, whilst enjoying the life of a recently single, wealthy man in Central London.

Along the way there will be several characters that might catch his eye, some of these include:

Ellie Wickes - Ellie is your recently hired assistant, she's hard-working and keen to impress, but likes to party and has an interesting assortment of friends you could also encounter. Will the workplace environment remain professional, or are there other areas you might prefer to mentor Ellie in?

PC Stephanie Adwell - A Pollice Officer recently graduated from university, Steph's had a conflicted past leading to her being open-minded to most requests you might have of her. Who knows where Steph's limits are, she might even be unsure of them herself.

DCI Vanessa Cavendish - A secondary school dropout and a teenage mother who has turned her life around to become the leading detective in Lydia's murder investigation. She's been single for over two decades, can anybody rekindle the romantic side of her life?

Jenna Bowyer - Your clingy ex-girlfriend. A primary school teacher who has started to realise she enjoyed the high life of being a successful lawyer's girlfriend more than she'd thought. Has she really changed from the controlling, irritating woman she was? Or is it just an act to get back to the lifestyle she so misses?
