Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made! (Patreon)

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1)  Blazeblood Rapier  — A dark silver rapier that feels warm to the touch and seems to pulse in your hand while wielding it. When you attack with this weapon, you can expend 1 or more Hit Dice to take fire damage. For each Hit Dice spent your reach increases and the target takes fire damage from the Hit Dice rolled. If you die while attuned to it, your body is reduced to ashes.

2)  Pteroscythe  — A sickle made from pterodactyl wing bones. It has the thrown property and will return to your hand after you throw it to attack, and damaging a creature with a flying speed will reduce their flying speed.

3)  Honeycomb Ring  — This ring is incredibly sticky with 7 compartments filled with sweet honey. Emptying a compartment into a drink makes it taste delicious. After all compartments have been emptied you can throw the ring at a creature within 20 feet, causing a swarm of insects to attack them.

4)  Meteorite Button  — An amulet that causes the wearer to fall faster, taking more damage from falling. You can pin it to another creature with a grapple check.

5)  Amulet of Devotion  — A divine amulet that grants you and a nearby ally of your choice a bonus to AC. You can also spend hit dice to heal an ally nearby as well.

6)  Rover  — This flail has a stake handle with a long chain connected to a fanged beast skull. The skull can be animated and you gain a bonus to attack and damage made with it. It drags you towards the closest hostile creature, and it can latch onto a target, reducing its speed while you are dragged along, but you gain an additional bonus to attack and damage which does extra piercing damage.

7)  Ankheg Mandible  — A large ankheg mandible has been fashioned into a shovel-like sword. It deals extra acid damage on a hit and you can use an action to excavate a 5-foot cube of loose earth.
