Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1)  Perceptive Pastels  — A small box of 1d4 + 1 pastel chalks. You can draw either: an eye, ear, or mouth with the chalk before it crumbles. While the drawing persists you can use an action to look, listen, or speak through it, respectively.

2)  Shadowspun Arrow  — These arrows are spun from the strands of a slain shadow and are often found in bundles of 1d4+1. A creature hit by one of these arrows takes additional necrotic damage and may have their strength drained. A creature who’s strength is reduced to 0 by this effect dies and returns as a shadow themselves.

3)  Tawny's Taming Treats  — A small pouch filled with treats that is loved by beasts of all kind. You become proficient in Animal Handling if you spend 24 hours training or taming a beast with these treats in 3 or fewer days. The bag loses its magic afterwards but regains it after a decade.

4)  Zenith Ring  — A pure silver ring that shows an idealized reflection of any creature that looks at it. While attuned, your physical form changes to match your reflection and your lowest ability score increases by +2 (to a maximum of 20). The ring has charges that can be spent when you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw to add a bonus equal to your highest ability score modifier. When you roll a 1 on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw you have disadvantage on your next roll.

5)  Frontliner’s Aegis  — This set of chain mail can change itself and react to the dangers of the battlefield. You gain a bonus to AC depending on the number of hostile creatures near you and the armor doesn't impose disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

6)  Snake Eyes Sword  — The hilt of this greatsword features a cobra with its hood prominently displayed. When you make an attack and roll a 1 on both of the weapon's damage dice you can choose to cast the charm person spell and the target does not get advantage on the saving throw. When cast in this way, the spell can also target snakes in addition to humanoids.

7)  Halting Shot  — This arrow is enchanted with dark magic and runes etched along its shaft. As a bonus action you can invoke the contract within the arrow, taking necrotic damage. When you do, the arrow cannot miss your target and automatically scores a critical hit. On a hit, the target's speed becomes 0.

Thanks to everyone who submitted item ideas and voted for them this week!

Keep on adventuring!

Crazy good week...doesn't matter which 2 win, they're all great.

What rarity would Tawny's Taming Treats be? It doesn't look like they'll win, but I love the idea of them for a niche use of mine haha!
