Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1)  Amulet of Devotion  — A divine amulet that grants you and a nearby ally of your choice a bonus to AC. You can also spend hit dice to heal an ally nearby as well.

2)  Nauticus  — An elegant trident with a ruby set near its head and gold tinted tips. When thrown, it always returns back to your hand. You can expend the trident's charges to double its throwing range or make an attack against all creatures in a line.

3)  Death's Shroud  — A burial shroud made of canvas and worn like a cloak, always appearing soiled with dried blood. When you are reduced to 0 hit points it covers you. You gain temporary hit points and can't fail a death saving throws. The shroud also deals damage to anyone who hits you.

4)  Midnight Pocketwatch  — A watch made with blue glass and a silhouette of a fairy engraved upon it. The watch has a third hand that doesn't move with time. You can cast dispel magic from the watch which causes it to chime twelve times and ticks down the third hand.

5)  Ashen Bloom  — These vibrant magical flowers are charred and glow eternally. You can steep a petal in hot water to give various benefits like curing a disease or poison or reducing exhaustion levels. You can also use them as a component in spells that deal fire damage to deal a small amount of extra damage.

6)  Resuscitation Slates  — A pair of green stones with a lightning bolt held in each. You can place the stones on the chest of a dying creature and speak the command word to heal them. The target also gains additional movement and other benefits until the start of their next turn.

7)  Jinxed Hand Mirror  — A small hand mirror that can be used as a spellcasting focus and grants you a bonus to AC. The mirror has charges that can be expended when a spell misses you or you succeed on the saving throw. Expending a charge reflects some of the spell's magic back to its source dealing damage. The mirror shatters once the last charge is expended, cursing you.

Thanks to everyone who submitted item ideas and voted for them this week!

Keep on adventuring!

I love them all!

My picks are Death's Shroud on the theme alone of wearing a blood stained canvas as a cloak (don't even really care for the effect though I feel it should have lore to explain it's creation), Ashen Bloom because there can never be enough alchemical ingredients to reward foragers, and Amulet of Devotion because there aren't enough base abilities/spells/items that promote teamwork. I see what you did with the Resuscitation Slates and I love nontraditional magic items like slates. the Nauticus is another thrown polearm and you've already done the doubling the thrown distance with Galepierce Weapons... Maybe you can use an action to have the trident summon a giant Nautilus creature that attacks the hit creature? Also see what you did with the Midnight Pocketwatch and the Jinxed Hand Mirror which are both good too.
