Weapon (lance), very rare

This lance is made of a stalactite mounted to a brass handle. Its razor-fine point is made of pitch-dark jet. Despite its material, the weapon magically weighs the same as a normal lance. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using the lance and choose to knock the creature out instead of killing it, you can leave the lance embedded within the creature as part of the attack. When you do, the target is petrified until another creature uses an action to make a DC 30 Strength (Athletics) check to pull out the lance or frees it with a greater restoration spell or similar magic, at which point the lance falls to the ground and can be used to make attacks again. Once a creature has been petrified in this way, it can't be petrified by the lance again until 7 days have passed.

The Ravenheart surveyed the Blinded Medusa, a statue to… irony, perhaps, but to him it was "heroes'" spite. Entry had been no issue—the prince practically left it on display for the Baronet Rook—but that was not to say there were no complications.

His mark was the lance embedded in the icon's stone chest, another mark of humiliation. It was a grave strain to unsheathe the stubborn weapon, even with strength amplified by the rough belt he wore. But as he turned, lance in hand, the new silence was undercut by a quiet sigh and the thud of scale on stone.

Looking back, he saw her crashed across the coils of her long tail, the last flecks of stone steaming off of her. Her breathing told him she was alive, but now insensate in the collection of one who'd see her as the effigy he owned.

It would've been easy to leave, as escape was his specialty.

...But now, how to get her out with tools meant for one?
