The yellow of the royal scouts' armor was well known throughout their lands. While rarely seen, everyone still knew that a flash of yellow within the woods was a warning: not a mistake. Entire war camps would disband overnight to avoid becoming the scouts' prey. They, too, had heard of the yellow-fletched arrows that would sprout like gruesome flowers from the bodies of the hunted. "Yellow-bellied" wasn't a term used to describe a lack of bravery within the queen's and king's realm: it was used to describe those who'd fallen to their scouts.
