Hey heroes! Let's make an item you'd find in a magical library!

These are loose item ideas using on the suggestions from yesterday's direction poll. Some of these may have had their ideas adjusted or combined with other like-minded suggestions. The final product may or may not use the original wording, so these are the core of the items' functionality and flavor.

Ideas

Delver's Decrypter — A stone slab that helps you to understand written ciphers. You have advantage on ability checks made to decipher codes and glyphs, as well as learn about their origins or intended purpose.

Book of Compulsion — A book without any writing on its pages. When you look at it, you must succeed on a saving throw or be enthralled by it, giggling and turning its pages as if it were filled with a great story for the rest of your turn. You repeat the saving throw at the start of each of your turns. On a success, you're immune to its effects for 24 hours.

Hadiya's Handy Quill — A magical quill that produces its own colored ink and can become a feather tattoo on your person, instead of carrying it. It can function as a dart, returning to your hand after making an attack with it, and mark a target once a day with ink that temporarily blinds them.

Silent Sculpture — A stone slab that transforms into an artistic bust of you once you attune to it. You can use an action to perceive through the bust's senses as long as you're on the same plane of existence as it, blinding and deafening your normal senses when you do. Being apart from the item for extended periods won't end your attunement to it.

Parchment of Personage — A scroll that allows you to be absorbed into the paper, including your equipment, for up to 24 hours or until the scroll is torn or otherwise destroyed (AC 10). You reappear in a space within 5 feet of the scroll when it's destroyed or the effect ends. While in the scroll, you are incapacitated, blinded, deafened, and mute.

Thanks for the suggestions! Let's make something fun this week!
