There was a scrap of parchment stuffed into the bottom of the blade. Notes salvaged from the wreckage of the room.

"Attempt number 141 is a success. More than the last ones, at least. Still trying to find out upper limits on range and strength. Hopes high for limitless range.

Hastily written below the scratched out notes read, "Update. Hopes no longer high. Functional, but power throughput potentially unstable."

The parchment was charred and torn in small, papercut-like lines. Whatever happened here was explosive, sure enough.
