There were guards everywhere, and she couldn't risk being seen. She leaned over to peer around the corner but thought better of it: taking the moment instead to take out a silver rod and look through it instead. As she did, it slowly stretched and twisted, looking ever so carefully around the edge of the wall.

Four.

Too many guards to take out at once. She removed her eye from the rod and it snapped back into its initial shape.

She was prepared for something like this, although she regretted the need to use it. Pulling a scroll of parchment from her pouch, her eyes glazed over white as she quietly read its contents aloud. Her form began to turn translucent, and a moment later, she was gone.
