"Hurry up! It's getting away!" the sailor cried out. He ran to his captain's side by the edge of the deck.

Captain Avolin watched as the harpy soared away, its monstrous form gliding towards the sea-lined horizon. He calmly raised his sleek trident and readied his aim, feeling its perfect balance and the salty winds flow over its form. With a sudden burst of strength, Avolin sent the weapon skywards, steel prongs streaking against the mid-day sun. Seconds later, the harpy tumbled out of the air with an echoing shriek, crashing and sinking into the ocean below.

"...That was a mighty impressive throw, sir," the sailor commended, "but how are we supposed to retrieve either of them now?"
