Hey heroes!
Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.
You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!
You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.
Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!
1) Plate of the Fallen — This armor has a pair of silver wings that have been twisted by infernal influence. While wearing it, you know infernal, gain a flying speed, gain resistance to fire and poison damage, and have advantage on Persuasion and Intimidation checks with fiends. Once per day, you can wreath your hands in unholy energy to deal an extra necrotic damage and force targets to suffer the effects of the bane spell. It also compels you to battle demonkind when they are near.
2) Wrath’s Bounty — This heavy blue coin holds a two-faced figure on one side, the other blank. You can attune to it and speak the name of a creature to become your mark, giving you advantage on Survival, Investigation, **and** all Charisma checks to gather information or track your quarry. You can focus your senses to learn the general direction of your mark, and you score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 against that creature. You can't rid yourself of this coin and you have an urge to track down your mark at all costs.
3) Gambler's Bow — A bow is stamped with a golden imprint of dice that gives you advantage on your next attack after rolling a 20. If you roll the same number on both d20s when you have advantage or disadvantage, you can make one additional attack as part of the same action. However, your misfortunes are also amplified, and rolling a 1 on an attack roll with this bow causes the next attack to have disadvantage.
4) Carrion Keeper’s Circlet — Dark feathers adorn this iron band. While attuned, your eyes grow pale and sharp like a vulture and your wisdom score increases. It has charges that can be expended to cast hold person, or spend additional charges to affect non-human targets. You can also focus your senses to detect the distance and direction of a creature near you that is missing hit points. Attempting to move away from an injured creature requires a Wisdom saving throw.
5) Light Brush — This torch resembles a paint brush, and can provide light in any color for 1 hour each day. However, lighting it curses and makes you want to use it as much as possible in dim light and darkness. While cursed, you leave behind glowing paint footprints every so often as you walk.
6) Medzo's Gaming Dice — These cursed dice are the favorites of an infamous gambler. You have advantage on ability checks made while gambling with these dice. When a nearby creature you can see makes an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you can expend a charge and make a Charisma check to grant that creature a bonus to their roll. If you fail the Charisma check, you are affected by the bane spell for the next minute.
7) Xorn Maw Collar — A necklace that harnesses the xorn's urge to consume gems and precious metals. You gain bonuses to checks related to geology and proficiency with jeweler's tools and can be combined with a xorn eye coin for bonuses such as burrowing speed, tremorsense, and the ability to summon a xorn once a week.
Keep on adventuring!
