Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Divination Needles — A pack of 10 needles that glow with arcane glyphs when loaded into a blowgun. These needles deal no damage and do not alert the target or reveal your location when fired. When you hit a target with one or more of them as part of the Attack action, a variety of effects can happened, such as: a creature is affected by the hunter's mark spell, the scrying spell, or has disadvantage on attack rolls.

2) Thunder Bolt — A crossbow bolt infused with the power of thunder. It emits a thunderous boom when fired and when you hit a creature, the target and all other creatures within range take thunder damage instead of the weapon's normal damage. Additionally, creatures in the area must succeed on a saving throw or be deafened.

3) Banishment Ammunition — This ammunition is covered in tiny runes in the shape of gateways and portals. A creature hit with it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or become banished as if by the banishment spell. Alternatively, you can break the ammunition to release the magic and banish yourself.

4) Shade Needles — These glass needles are made of pure shadow and typically found it bundles of 5. Attacks made with them while hidden to not reveal your location.

5) Spirit Shunting Arrow — The head of this arrow is from a chipped gravestone and its fletching is ethereal smoke. A creature hit with it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or take extra damage and have their spirit pushed out of their body. While in this state, the body is restrained and unconscious. The spirit uses the statistics of a specter with changes. The target can attempt to reenter their body at the end of each of their turns.

6) Lodestone Bolts — A magical quiver that can convert any metal bolts stored within it into ones charged with magnetic force. Once a turn when you hit a target with one of these bolts, you can force it to make a saving throw to be either pull or pushed up to 10 feet toward or away from you, as the bolt reacts to the polarity of the quiver at your side.

7) Apparition's Arrow — This arrow has a mass of ragged fabric tied around the shaft, turning into a haunting figure while in flight. When fired, any creature that sees the attack must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or believe the figure to be real. Higher rarity variants exist that cause you to become invisible until the end of your next turn.
