I'm certainly glad you guys are still doing this ridiculous show. Its one of my favorite things in the world. So in that Nutcracker and the Four Realms movie (starring Richard E. Grant), there is a scene where the main character sits down to watch Misty Copeland dance, which is a nice nod to the ballet, as Chad describes. And his closing remarks in the episode suggest that the titular "Four Realms" are in the original story too, so that will be fun to hear and/or quietly hallucinate about. I have to say, I am enjoying this nutty fairy tale story and I'm really glad you guys decided to cover it. Still feel like I should have read it myself, but its been a busy season.

Great episode guys!. I have a weird insight into Queen Mousering's deathrattle of "que-que." So to preface this, I used to play a loooot of World of Warcraft in years gone by. One of the pieces of "gamerspeak" I picked up was phrase QQ. Somebody is QQing when they're complaining or winging on about something that's usually not very justified. So when Lady Mouserings spat out que que as part of her death gasps, I was right back there watching people complain on the forums or in game chat. Niche, but hopefully somewhat relevant

Inverse did a good deep dive about where QQ come from for gamespeak. https://www.inverse.com/gaming/qq-meaning-video-game-definition-meme-warcraft/amp I’m of the mind that since “que” means what (or that) in many Romance languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French) she was saying “what what” to put an emphasis on each of her lines.

"Punched in the Gwen Stacy!" I laughed way too loud at that, Chris!

I wonder if the 7 heads are supposed to recall the 7 headed dragon from Revelations? It seems kind of a stretch, but why not 5 or 9 heads?

I was also a bit sad that Princess Pearlepat proved so fickle in her affections, but the poor child must have so many issues from her condition, that I can't find it in my heart to condemn her. I imagine she was bullied quite badly in Princess School.

Good question. Maybe Revelations, or maybe it’s just a good “magic number”.

“On the following morning the astronomer was in raptures: he fell upon the mechanist's neck, and cried, "It is he—we have him—he is found! But there are two things, worthy colleague, which we must see to. In the first place, we must braid for your excellent nephew a stout mechanical apparatus, which shall be joined in such a way to his lower jaw, that it can move it with great force. In the next place, we shall remove his right arm and replace it with a laser cannon.” SKELETOR: And that was how Trap Jaw came to be! Heeee he-he-he-he-he-he-he heeeeee!

Rafe, it all starts as a joke, but in a year, you find yourself feverishly writing He-Man slashfic at 2 am, and you'll wonder how you life got there....

4 seasons of Mr. Robot just dropped on Netflix here and I am deep in it. Perhaps that is why I think I get this story as a deep and very bizarre depiction of mental illness.
