While I agree that you guys should certainly read The Ceremonies, I don't think it's quite as good as this tale. It's got fine characterization and a lot of great ideas and scenes that don't show up in "Poroth Farm," but it lacks the elegant perfection of the shorter tale and the ending of the novel doesn't have the same lingering power as the ending of this story. I'm not posting this to be a negative nellie; I just want to temper people's expectations when turning from the novella to the novel to keep them from being disappointed.

I agree with the Shoggoth Lord. While I found The Ceremonies to be a gripping read with a lot of excellent prose and good ideas, I thought it fell apart at the end. That's a problem with a lot of horror in general, I find, no matter the medium.
