I still think killing the wolf was a good thing. That wolf was wracking up a kill count and going after it was good for soceity. Though it does point out that our soldiers, police, firefighters, first responders, etc. are out of the ordinary people and that maybe they are only able to do those jobs because they have something obsessive in their personalities. It is kinda that old theme that the monster hunters kind of become monsters themselves.
