Poe using the "eye" is very emblematic of Arabic culture because singing about the eyes are a major theme in Arabic pop music which is also very poetic ; Ligeia ryhmes with Hygieia, the goddess of good health and the pentagram structure of the turret is related to Pythagoras; the "music of the spheres" in the poem is also related to Pythagoras idea of proportion in everything including cosmology, fibonacci measurements which ties into Poe's love of phrenology, and facial proportions.
