The car had long since disappeared behind them and the clump of green in front of them just didn’t seem to get any closer. 

“This is stupid,” said Joshua, finally. “We have no idea where we are. We have no idea where we’re going. It’s got to be a million degrees out here. We are going to die!” 

“Getting to that bit of green is our only hope,” said Lucas. 

“except we’ve been walking for hours,” said Joshua, “and it’s not any closer. We can’t even see the car anymore. Good plan.”
