Cutting My Drawings Off Of Their Panels (Patreon)
Content
Finally fully settled into my studio here in Norway and I have been preparing to put all of my drawings and paintings that we shipped over from Jersey City "on the market," so to speak.
I made this video of how I cut them off of the panels they are stretched over specifically because I have learned a few things about doing it:
- The edges have to be perfectly squared!
- The edges should be perfectly straight.
- You want the drawing to be super secure while making the cuts.
This is partly because of how I frame my work- floated behind glass without a matt board- but still, it's best to be neat and clean.
I am intent on first making these drawings and paintings available for purchase to my social media followers (rather than sending them to a gallery) and offering a discount to my Patreon subscribers --- just in case you want to own any of the work from my tutorials ;)
Here I am using a utility knife and a matt board cutter to secure the drawing and make the precise cuts.
