Hi Stephen I have a question about shading, I get to point where I feel I can't add more graphite and feels like it is sliding off, I'm thinking maybe I am being too heavy handed with shading and need to add kore lighter layers of graphite, am I correct? thanks Anna

Hi Anna, I think that I know the phenomenon you are talking about. Sounds to me like sharper pencils and filling in the "holes" of the paper are the fix you are looking for. Pressure is definitely not the way we want to take to get to our darkest value.
