Bo and I reread all of One Piece in our manga book club. We're making an animation about One Piece together. And now, Bo has decided to pass on the curse of watching all the One Piece movies to me. Here they all are.

Some of Zoro's many identical clown-adjacent ex-boyfriends who keep showing up.

Quick! Which movie villain looks the worst. Count Battler's monster form (Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals) or Douglass Bullet's extremely stupid-looking giant 3D form that looks like it was ripped straight out of a Pokemon movie from like 2004 (Stampede)? Vote now on your phones!

Thank you two for your sacrifice

Daniel

Wait, you watched episode of chopper and alabasta but not East Blue? Also, Douglas looks worse. The other guy is a bad design, but at least thats all he is. Douglass's stupid CG garbage is a lack of any artistic drive to do something cool with him and juat piled on stock cg effects

jelloapocalypse

We were following some list or another about what counted as a "movie" and what didn't. There was no consistency between most lists, but Alabasta/Chopper were the two we saw counted the most so we included those.

I'm so glad you mentioned the Avril Lavigne cover of How you remind me. Its legit my favorite piece of One Piece lore

RUDE. VERY RUDE. HOW DARE YOU. Jumpscare me with Avril Lavigne, twice. I can't believe you got me with that. Movie opinions, all pretty on-point as far as the ones I've seen, no objections. (One element of these movies that's usually pretty good even when everything else is a mess is the soundtracks- like, Strong World was a mess and I didn't remember a single thing that happened in it until hearing this recap, but I still get the opening number stuck in my head all the time. Film Gold especially has a really fun soundtrack that's worth listening to on its own, without randos going "UWEHHHH" over it as the Strawhats participate in the least exciting Wacky Races segment you've ever seen in your life.)

I have nothing BUT contempt for this court

I took my One Piece aware friend to see the Film Gold dub in theaters and it was a certified Glup Shitto moment when Sabo shows up to fight Kizaru. He also asked why Sanji could fly now and I just said "Transphobia"

Blue Glasses

Confused that you didn't talk about any of the music in film Red. Most of it's fine, though I do kind of like Fleeting Lullaby. It's a fun villain song.

Drednot

Can't believe the best one piece movie is little shop of horrors

Masofuts

“Vote libertarian” Kazan is scarily accuraye

BreadBunny

Honestly kind of incredible that five of these movies actually get a positive score, also very funny that the movies keep making Kizaru threaten to blow up the island under higher orders, considering Egghead right now. AND ALSO Luffy getting bodied early in the arc to show how strong and scary the villain is just so he can then body the villain later considering Wano. Like given what I'm hearing you can't tell me that Oda isn't involved with the movies because otherwise the people writing them would have to be really good at emulating how Oda writes and that's such a devastating negative.

Candaru Driemor

That ending bit fucking GOT me

Psycho

Honestly doing a classic review of the one piece movies in ten words or less could be fun
