Behind-the-scenes explanation of how I wrote the song "Bubblegum Renegade". This song is a riff on a very niche subgenre of crappy 50s/60s ballads and the weird amount of musical theater that seems to accompany them.

Whenever I start writing a song I always use one specific melody or lyric I'm really attached to and build from there, but this time there were like five false starts because I accidentally kept ripping things off. This behind-the-scenes is basically roasting myself, haha.

SONG RIP-OFFS, IN ORDER:
- Little Witch Academia OP1
- Cup of Roasted Coffee from "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals"
- smooooch・∀・
- School House Rock "Interjections"
- The Leader of the Pack
- Johnny Don't Go from "Zombie Prom"
- Pizza Angel from "VeggieTales"

These song breakdowns are some of my favourite bits of content you make, it's so cool to hear all of these different ideas crystallise into a single song

well, since its not updated i suppose it's guessing time: - Little Witch Academia - Cup of Roasted Coffee - Smooch (you said this one) - idfk - and finally my favourite bad song that isn't from RE, Leader of the Pack

"Trapped in the jumble of the jungle gym" has been my favorite lyric every time I've listened to this since it released.

So real for using Pizza Angel from Veggietales as the first example when describing 'talking over a guitar riff' section, lol.

Man you keep introducing me to new forms of media that I never knew I would enjoy. I’ve never even thought about musical theaters but this really makes me wanna give them a shot!

Musical Theater is a medium where 90% of it is really bad but when you finally find a show you like it kind of takes over your life for like seven months
