So right now I'm working on Dogs in Love 2, a highlight reel of our Pokemon XD playthrough, and that's going to take me a VERY long time to finish since it's about 50 hours of raw footage. I'm also still working on the Epithet book and production.

But!

Once those are done!

...I'm probably going to want to work on a highlight reel of our Fire Emblem playthroughs.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME AS THAT, I CAN MAKE A VIDEO ESSAY

I've been really into video essays for a long time (partially because they're the only thing YouTube recommends to anyone anymore). I have several ideas for different video essays that I think would be compelling enough to make, but I honestly don't know which one I should start with? They're all wildly different in tone and subject matter and I'll need a lot of prep time for any of these that I choose to make. So, which one would you guys be most interested in?

Here are the options:

You Should Watch Bomberman Jetters - If you're new to the experience of being within 500 feet of me, then you might not be aware that Bomberman Jetters is my favorite anime of all time. I never shut up about it because it is, inexplicably, one of the most charming pieces of media I've ever seen and also a really good exploration of the theme of grieving for your loved ones. This is just a pure-and-simple video essay. In the first half, I talk about the show in a spoiler-free way while urging people to watch it. In the second half I just go ahead and spoil everything and talk about some of the best scenes in the show. There are two scenes in this show that are honest-to-god masterpieces. The conceptual script for this one is at 18 pages right now. I would need to rewatch the show again to make this.

Speculation - The Art of Negative Space in Storytelling - A much more serious essay. An academic look a specific trend in new media since the dawn of the internet: The concept of not telling your story and using the resulting speculation fodder as a talking point for your fanbase. Weaponizing the fan's interest in the unknown and their willingness to create stories, art, songs, and video essays for your work as a form of metatextual advertising. Talking about times I think this has happened by accident and times that I think malicious creators have basically turned being lazy and not actually writing anything into a cheap way to get their series more attention. Touches on a lot, but focuses on indie horror video games. The script for this guy is closer to 30 pages.

Let's Make a Fire Emblem Game - Years ago my friend Piph and I made two videos, Let's Make a Pokemon Game and Let's Make an Animal Crossing Game, talking about changes that I would like to see addressed going forwards in a hypothetical new installation of the series.

A few years ago, my boyfriend asked me what I'd like from an ideal Fire Emblem game. I took that question way too seriously and am currently about 500 pages deep into an actual, full-on game script that has turned into, by my own admission, the best thing that I've ever written.

I would like one day like to finish this script, write a video skimming the plot and characters, have all of the characters voice acted for their video appearance, and get custom art for the entire cast. This is a video I'm definitely going to make eventually, one way or another. I'm just not sure when. I would need to finish the script first before making the video, which would take awhile, but hey, if this is what you guys are most interested in, let me know! I can move it to the top of the pile.

I agree with Sam Speciale, I for one enjoy when you take a video game franchise that’s been done to death and then breath new life into it.

After seeing your ideas for other games and also your ideas for that haunted mansion rpg concept you were drawing enemy concept art for back in like January... I'm DYING to see your take on a series that, admittedly, needs a LOT of fixing/revamping. Fire Emblem for sure.

These are all super interesting ngl

YEEEEEEESSSSS I have been wanting to hear more about your fan-made Fire Emblem script ever since you shared ideas about it (Pegasus Lord, hello!?) in the Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn streams, I’d be so happy to see you finally make this video! Edit: Also holy shit an edit of the FE Playthroughs, aaaaahhh so hyped! <3

Clearly in a minority of the initial votes, but... Bomberman Jetters. Any excuse to get the show the spotlight it deserves. But first and foremost, I want you to stay healthy and not overwork yourself, because... Ho boy editing the Fire Emblem streams sounds nightmarish. (Though logically, if you're working on a video while editing the streams, it'd make the most sense to make the "Let's Make FE" video so you don't need to rewatch Jetters *and* the FE Streams in order to make the two videos... unless you want the pallet cleanser of Jetters I guess? Idk. I'm just happy for quality content in general.)

I've heard Jello talk about bomber man jetters for what feels like years now, I must know all of his opinions.

Man...I want a boyfriend who'd make a whole Fire Emblem game just cuz I'd asked him what he'd like to see in later games.....or heck even just one who'd give me a hug right now..
