Hello! A few days ago I asked if people would be interested in some assorted reviews on various games/movies/shows to fill the empty space on Patreon while I finish writing the Epithet Erased novel! The majority of you guys said you were interested in audio reviews, so here is the first one of many! A review of It Takes Two, which is a video game!

This is an exclusively co-op video game that I played with my boyfriend. The gameplay is phenomenal! The characters? ...Uh oh!

IT TAKES TWO - 9/10 (if you skip all the cutscenes)

If you like...

  • Co-Op games
  • Level Variety
  • Puzzle platformers
  • Toy Story
  • Really really obnoxious children's movie characters who are not funny or likeable at all

...then you might like this game!

I have a few topics I'm going to be covering in the next few weeks, but until then, feel free to request things for me to check out in the replies!

Beckett’s Bricks and Broadway

Me and my brother just started re playing it and I legitimately turned my headphones up at max volume to drown out the sound of the elephant killing, all while my brother was laughing historically

I absolutely love your Open Thoughts reviews. I would also love to hear your thoughts on the Owl House.

Oh man, more open thoughts, I'm gonna have a great time listening to this on my next commute! As a bit of a wildcard suggestion - would you ever consider doing an open thoughts on some classical literature? It could be really interesting to hear your thoughts about some literary greats, if there's any you're interested in/passionate about (I vaguely remember you taking part in a video about either Shakespeare or Edgar Allen Poe which was done entirely in iambic pentameter, which is why I'm guessing you might enjoy nerding out over some of that stuff - no worries if I've missed the mark on that, though!)

jelloapocalypse

I don't think I've read anything like that within the last 10 years, so I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable talking about it without revisiting it, to be honest!

The vacuum scene was the first disturbing thing to me. It was just so weird to have the cutesy stuff and typical boss fight only to end with you forcing it to rip its own eyes out. I played it with my sister who made a joke about it being like a scene in the Witcher 2 where you watch a women get her eyes scooped out. Then there was a few other thing that made us go wait what?? Wtf?? When it got to the Cutie scene I didn't feel as much emotional whiplash since the game had did similarly weirdly disturbing shit before but I didn't expect it to go that far. Reading an interview with the Josef guy apparently he talks about how if you listen to the dialogue May and Cody say lines about how fucked it is but playing it it feels a lot more comedic than genuine. For some reason he felt like it was necessary because it made an impact on players(?) And that it didn't matter since in the credits you see Cutie fixed as if that makes everything better

there's an EE novel now? ...don't suppose we'll ever have the chance to listen to/watch the original gameplay? I don't care if it spoils anything, I just want to see where it originated from.

Graham Finch

You mean it's not that crappy Olsen Twins movie?

I’ll be honest, I was laughing through your entire description of the doll murder sequence. It just sounded so atonal and horrible that I found it hilarious to imagine what mind would think that was okay.

Kruh-Daze

The elephant thing was hard just to listen to you describing it, I can only imagine what it was like seeing and playing it.

I've really liked your Open Thoughts, so I'm really glad to hear that you plan on making more content of that nature! Some shows I'd suggest would be Infinity Train, The Owl House, and Amphibia. Though I find just as interesting to listen to you talk about things I'm unfamiliar with.

Marsgreekgod

So it might or might not be your style. but dragon audit was pretty cute. lots of law puns. advture game.

I'm not entirely sure what you might like, so i'll just throw out Return of the Obra Dinn as a suggestion

He said on Twitter that EE would be continued through light novels since it's too expensive to animate. He's writing the first on right now and said after the first (maybe second?) Novel continuation is released he'll put the original campaign up on YouTube or something

How about Open thoughts on Fruits Basket maybe? The original isn't bad but the 2019 remake is fantastik and the music is amazing!

I have a few suggestions. I'm trying to think of things that people haven't asked you to talk about yet, so it'll be a bit of a challenge, but I do have these: 1) I have heard you talk positively about Oliver Twist in the past, and if you don't need to revisit it I think that would be interesting to hear about. 2) As far as anime goes, Ouran HSHC is a fun watch that I think would be neat to dissect all the aspects that did and did not age well. The only downside is that it was dubbed at the time a certain V*c Mcdonalds was all the rage in the anime world, so that might deter you from it. It definitely makes me like the show less. Oops. 3) I have always been curious about your in-depth thoughts on The Brave Little Toaster movies, since this review on 'It Takes Two' reminded me heavily of TBLT, specifically the first movie, and I have a bit of nostalgia for them. The one scene near the beginning with the AC unit has stuck with me for almost two decades. 4) Last thing, I'm kind of morbidly curious about your thoughts on Cruella. That opening scene alone looks like it could be a very special kind of bad that's just--intoxicating to talk about. That's all I got! I love these audio posts for when I draw, and I'm glad more of them are happening. Thanks, Jello! (Also can't wait to watch 🐉 goes House Hunting. 😃)

Thank you for letting me know. I did not know that. I look forward to the release of everything you just said.

45 minutes of Jello ranting. YES. (Gets out popcorn)
