StiB JoJo Casting - Libby Moffett as Joanne Joestar! (Patreon)

For anyone who wasn't aware, last week I held a casting call for the upcoming So This is Basically JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! We had four open roles:

• Joanne Joestar, a hypothetical new protagonist
• Willie Dustice, her flustered, sidelines sidekick
• Duran Duran, a generic one-off villain
• And a MYSTERY VILLAIN, whose design and name would be decided by Siv, the video's artist, and myself after we cast the actor!

Over the next few days I'll be releasing the selected actors' auditions exclusively on Patreon! Hope you guys like them! I'll also be talking a little bit about the hypothetical JoJo Part 9 we conceptualized while writing part of the video even though 90% won't be present in the actual StiB.

First up is Libby Moffett (Twitter: @libbadoodle) as Joanne Joestar, our leading lady! Check out her concept art here!

We imagined that Part 9 takes place in the Steel Ball Run alternate universe. Because Part 8's protagonist is a combination of Part 4's hero and villain, we wanted Part 9's protagonist to be something similar, so she's an amalgamation of Giorno from Part 5 and Jolyne from Part 6.

Part 9 (which does not have a subtitle as of this writing) takes place in smalltown America during the 1950s and has a similar small-scale mystery vibe to Part 4. Joanne is a girl living in this town who has recently discovered her stand, Electric Avenue, which allows her to "control circuits." We figured controlling circuits would be a great JoJo power because Araki-- the author-- has absolutely no idea how physics works! At first it would start out with just controlling electricity, but by the end she'd be messing with people's bloodstreams, cars, phones, and probably get some bullshit time powers because "time is a circuit maybe???"
