Die Nibelungen (Patreon)

Today is the 100th anniversary of Fritz Langs Die Nibelungen. I wanted to celebrate by creating a movie poster style illustration based on the artwork by one of my favourite artists, Carl Otto Czeschka. His book illustration heavily influenced the mise en scène of the movie. So I thaught it would be fun to combine elements of the movie and Czeschkas artworks into one.

Im happy I managed to finish it just in time. I tried out gold leafing for the first time so I was pretty nervous but it turned out pretty well. Id love to use more gold leafing in the future. It gives a lot of dimention that is unfortunatly lost in the photos but I hope you like the result anyways!
