Summer is here, and that's not cool. Literally. Here's what I got done this week:
- Added a button in the Main Menu for toggling Endless Mode
- Made the Endless Mode menu slide in and out when hovering the mouse near the Play button
- In Endless Mode, removed the scrolling background and the trigger for the end cinematic
- Made the score system track wine instead of depth while Endless Mode is enabled (including a separate high score)
Hmm... Is it me or does this list look a little familiar? Oh, that's right. It's because
BOOM! UPDATE!!! *Explosion* *Explosion*
1.4.2 is out! It's a nice, small update that was started and finished in the same week. Imagine that! It's not insignificant, though -- it introduces a new feature: Endless Mode! This was requested by a couple of people and has been on my to do list for quite some time, and now it's finally here!
Endless Mode is just like Story Mode (as it's now called), but it ends at 250 meters instead of 900. Ha! Just kidding. It's endless, silly! No depth to keep track of, so instead it keeps track of wine earned during that run (which does still get added to your total wine for shopping) and the scrolling background has been removed so there's fewer distractions in your forever battle with Grape Stomp-chan! ...'s feet!
Aaaaaand I just realized that consumables for depth are still gonna be consumed because I literally did not think about that until right this second. Be sure to turn those off if you're gonna play this mode and I'll get that patched up in the next update. The joys of game development! :P
Important:
I didn't get this update out fast for nothing -- It's been another 3 months of work, which means it's time for my quarterly week-long break! Yaaaaay mental health! As such, there will be no progress report next week. I'll do my best to relax and keep my mind off of work. No promises...
Now then, you guys enjoy the beginning of Summer while I enjoy this Taco Bell. I'll see you guys again in TWO weeks!
PS: The cat bathing went surprisingly well. :)
