Oscar went through many many redesigns, we decided to go through the company Budsies due to their very affordable pricing and the lower bulk order options that most plush companies do not offer. Unfortunately the plush creation was not without it's issues, however Budsies were able to listen to feedback and did not charge extra for the changes. Lets take a look at his multiple stages!

His first form had many issues

- Wrong colours

- Square human like teeth

- No pointy fox cheeks

- Missing eye patches

- Missing bandana

I quickly emailed back with changes, listing out the mistakes that were made and requesting the mouth be kept shut. I realised that it can be ridiculously hard to get a good open mouth shape on plushies. I kept the tongue sticking out to help reflect his personality. Budsies confirmed the changes.

However...with budsies you do not communicate directly with the plush maker and it seems the feedback to keep the mouth shut was overlooked. Oscar was looking better but his mouth was all wrong. I sent a redline over with suggested fixes

I wait about a week and out comes Oscar v3!

I was much happier with this version of Oscar, but I'm quite fussy. Since we have plans on selling this as a merchandise item it needed to look like the in game character. Oscar has quite a short nose and the plush needed to match that. However there was some miscommunication when it came to the next step...

The nose actually came out bigger and wider! It seems they thought I meant his actual black nose instead of his snout despite the redlines I sent. They quickly reverted the changes

Ta-da! Much better, although now he seems rather bored or unamused, I requested a smile be added

Great! But now the white of his mouth doesn't connect to the corner of his mouth, oops!

The final result! It took a lot of attempts to get the right design and hopefully we won't have the same issues with Billie. I sent a 3D model with Oscar which I think made the process harder. Despite the many small mistakes I was very happy the final version. His fur is very soft, he's a very good size (16 inches with a 16 inch tail) and the stitching quality is professional. Something you'd expect to see in a store window.

Here's a sneak peak at Billies design. It's almost her turn to be prototyped and Budsies are currently stitching her pattern. You'll get a first look at her once she's ready via Patreon!

I'm tempted to add a real bell to her design manually if people are interested! Unfortunately Budsies were unable to supply actual bells so they will be made out of plush fabric.
