So, random question, but is space combat/starship upgrades going to play a big role in this story or is it going to be more focused on ground side things and ‘the ship’ used as a mobile base/plot device? Personally I would be down with reading that, TES ritual magic is also rather potent if you let it be.

Space combat and upgrades are going to be a thing, but just how big kind of remains to be seen. I wish I could be more specific, but i try and go where the story flows (as cheesy as that sounds) and its hard to predict specifics.
