If you've been looking forward to the CYOA continuing, you might have noticed it didn't update in September or October. Here's why:

1) Monetary reasons. With patron support fluctuating, I keep dropping below the CYOA goal level, like I am right now. At times I've dropped a full 20% below the goal.

2) Motivation reasons. I haven't been having as much fun writing it as I thought I would, which honestly makes me sad. :(

One issue is that in the last few months I've gotten more weary of the "isekai" genre - "different world" stories, about someone teleported to another universe, usually fantasy. There are SO many of these around nowadays, especially in anime, that my inspiration to write one has dwindled seriously.

Another motivation issue is that the world design doesn't seem to feel "right," no matter how many different ways I think about it. I like some of the character ideas, but it kept feeling like they were going to be walking around an empty world, which makes the characters feel weaker. Everything feels hollow. Bleh!

So...

I don't want it to feel like I'm "punishing" you folks for support fluctuating. I really would like to have fun while writing a CYOA for you that updates at LEAST once a month (preferably faster), even if support is below $250/month. With that in mind, I see a few ways to move forward:

A) The current story stops where it is, and I start over with something new. It will be easier for me to write, so it is more likely for me to update it more frequently.

B) I "force" myself to write another chapter or two of the current CYOA, and see if I find a way to get some momentum to continue it. I'm worried my lack of enthusiasm for the story will make the story weaker, though. Also there's 0% chance that the story would have an ending in a couple of chapters. AND if I do this, it makes it more crappy if I don't finish it.

C) I completely drop the CYOA idea and focus on writing complete stories.

What do you think? Your feedback is really important to me.

You do you. Your writing is wonderful, and we love to see a happy Glee being happy. Gleeful, even.

I gotta agree with This End Up, I love your stories, and I'm just here to see the great work I know you are capable of. If you are not happy with the way this project is going, then I say go ahead and do what you feel is right, I'll be right with you either way.
